This poster was issued in 1942 by the Office of War Information (OWI), set up by the U.S. government that year to shape and communicate its various wartime propaganda objectives. The black-and-white photograph of the Italian leader Benito Mussolini, who entered the war on the side of Germany on June 10, 1940, with disastrous results. The other two posters in the series feature leaders of the Axis powers Isoroku Yamamoto and Adolf Hitler.
