Jessica Sabogal was one of the three artists, along with Shepard Fairey and Ernesto Yerena Montejano, commissioned by the Amplifier Foundation to design posters for the We the People series, protesting the 2017 inauguration of Donald Trump. Her poster shows a tender moment between a same-sex couple, one of whom wears a baseball cap bearing the slogan “Women are Perfect!”, presumably as a direct rebuke to the new president and his persistent denigration of women. The posters in the series were not only designed to be downloaded and used as posters on the Women’s March in Washington, DC the day after the inauguration, however. They were also posted throughout the city’s metro stops and reproduced as full-page ads in the Washington Post.
