We Are Chinatown is a series of four posters created as part of Poster House’s 2024 Artist-in-Residence program. Displayed around Manhattan to celebrate the resilience, transformation, and enduring spirit of New York’s Chinatown, the series was born out of intimate conversations with residents, ultimately honoring four intergenerational figures from the neighborhood: Lucy Yu of Yu & Me Books, Ken Li of KK Discount, Gary Liang of G&J Florist, and Muoi Truong, a beloved fruit vendor on Mulberry Street. Together, the posters create an image of a place that is continuously evolving while remaining deeply rooted in its rich history and cultural heritage.
