During the 1970s and ‘80s, Japanese artist Masuteru Aoba designed a series of protest posters addressing nonviolence and environmentalism. This one was produced for the World Peace Council Information Centre in Helsinki, Finland, and shows military aircraft flying into a garbage can. These images were so successful that Aoba was commissioned to design the official poster for the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan.
