This poster advertising the 1983 German release of the 1982 American musical comedy film Victor/Victoria is a variant of the original American poster with a pink background and slightly different colors. The German tagline, translating as: “aunts, fauns, turtledoves – it’s all beyond belief” has also replaced the original: “The whole of Paris/was talking about her./They only knew half the story.” Victor/Victoria is a remake of a 1933 German film of the same name, and stars Julie Andrews as a woman in 1930s Paris who masquerades as a gay male cabaret performer, who is himself pretending to be a female impersonator.
