Charles Rich Wilcox designed many recruitment and propaganda posters for Canadian government agencies during World War II. Since Canada was never under direct attack on its own soil, Canadian posters of this period rarely showed graphic images of violence. This poster presents the almost cartoon-like personifications of Britain (the lion) and Canada (the beaver), both armed, as they march together toward victory.
