In 1972, Ed Sorel created a series of large subway posters to promote readership of the New York Times. As the 1970s ushered in an unprecedented era of investigative journalism, Sorel presents a young Times reporter eagerly scribbling notes under a table as he eavesdrops on a bevy of bloated politicians, most likely a reference to the Democratic National Convention and the uncertainty surrounding the next nominee.
