The little boy eating in front of an open fridge door below the slogan “…such freshness at such a modest price” promotes the SIBIR refrigerator. The SIBIR was invented in Switzerland in 1944 and incorporated a novel absorption system that replaced the old compressor refrigerators. It became especially popular during the 1950s and 1960s.
