Zanders, founded in Bergisch Gladbach near Cologne in western Germany in 1829 (it closed in 2021), was one of several paper manufacturers for which Chwast has created promotional posters. Here, he emphasizes the suitability of the company’s white Estralin paperboard for artistic projects with a series of cartoonish illustrations of Rembrandt at work. In a variant of this design on the company’s yellow Efalin paper, the artist’s hair is gray rather than white.
