Paula Scher designed this poster for Bring in ‘Da/Noise/Bring in ‘Da Funk after its move from the Public Theater to the Ambassador Theatre on Broadway in April 1996. (It ran there for nearly three years.) Scher abandons the blocky wood typeface that characterized most of her posters for the show during both its Public Theater and Ambassador Theater runs (and indeed much of her work for the Public in general) in favor of rough hand-drawn typography surrounding the sole of a dance shoe. The design embodies the raw energy of street art and that of the production itself.
