In 1911, Ludwig Hohlwein had designed the poster for the new Munich zoo, later renamed the Tierpark Hellabrunn; in 1912, he designed another two posters for that zoo and two for the new one in Nuremberg, focusing each on a specific animal. In 1935, he was again commissioned by the Munich zoo to design a poster. Here he presents the newborn orangutan in its mother’s arms that is mentioned on the poster as worth a special visit.
