This poster advertises available warehouse and factory plots for rent or sale at the industrial port in Stettin, then a German city but one that was transferred to Poland after World War II (where it is known as Szczecin). The city in northwestern Poland on the German border remains an important port and a shipbuilding center. The F.M. Lenzer printing house there was founded in 1847 and specialized in paper goods, printing, and packaging. This very local firm evidently hired ambitious artists to create designs in the Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) style as well as the Sachplakat (object poster) style used by the unknown designer here. It is characterized by a focus on the main object being promoted and involves a limited range of flat colors and distinctive lettering.
