Created for the seventh issue of FUSE (Crash), Fingers answers the question of what letterforms might look like after the death of typography. Namely, that people would likely invent a personal sign language using their fingers. More easily readable than many other fonts presented in FUSE, Fingers is based on David Carson’s actual hands replicating roman letters. The poster features part of a fax from FUSE cofounder Jon Wozencroft to David Carson asking him to resize the poster he had designed for the issue. It is overlaid by punctuation and commentary in Fingers.
