In this witty design for the Festival of San Isidro, held annually in Madrid each May, Boris Bućan decorates the piano stool with bull’s horns in a humorous reference to the Spanish city’s famous bullfighting tradition. The focus of the composition is, as ever, on the image rather than the lettering, restricted here to the piano itself; while radically simplified, the heavy black-and-gold forms of the piano and stool evoke the streamlined opulence of the Art Deco.
