The four-hundred-year-old festival of Suwa Shrine is held in Nagasaki, Japan each year on October 7–9. The festival features performances each year by five to seven groups representing the city’s various districts. Each participates in the festival only once every seven years. In this poster promoting the festival, the text is integrated with the stylized forms of the three ritual archers at the center of the image who appear close together in a diagonal line.
