Eladio Rivadulla Martinez was a pioneer of screen-printing in Cuba, and began to make film posters locally in his own Havana studio in 1943. In 1959, he made the first poster in celebration of the success of Castro’s revolution in that year. This poster, commissioned in 1963 by the Ministerio de la Construction (MICONS), charged with maintaining and modernizing the country’s infrastructure, seems to be encouraging citizens to work together like bees in the service of a common goal.
