In his poster for TWA’s Rome service, Mandel again shows the flying passenger; this time, however, he is greeted by a man wearing a chef’s hat ornamented with the Italian flag, and proffering a forkful of spaghetti. Mandel’s charming illustrational style was much influenced by that of the French graphic designer Raymond Savignac.
