This is a variant of the poster titled art is… that Paula Scher designed for the Subway Series of the School of Visual Arts in 1996 to celebrate its 50th anniversary. As in the other one, the handwritten letters are composed of a long list of artists admired by Scher in a wide range of fields, exemplifying her original and playful use of lettering.
