For the 1992 Berlin Jazz Fest (dubbed “Cabaret Jazz”), Günther Kieser constructed a cartoonishly bulbous saxophone that morphs into the shapely leg of a woman in a red high heel. While it is undeniably striking, numerous women complained that the design was sexist. In 1990, Kieser created a similar poster to promote a television series about voyeurism. Both sculptures were made out of plaster and coated with Hammerite paint, a product that imparts a metallic finish.
