This is the last in a series of posters Glaser had created for the New York Board of Tourism since 1979, each dominated by a large feline and riffing on the word “cat” in Catskills. Some of these posters included Glaser’s original I [heart] New York logo design, while others, like this one, state “I Love NY” or “I Love New York.” Each of the cats, most of them slightly menacing in appearance, is embedded in the mountainous landscape of the Catskills. And all the posters feature Glaser’s own Kitchen typeface, originally designed in 1977 for Big Kitchen, the food court at the World Trade Center.
