This poster urges Austrians to subscribe to the country’s sixth war loan in 1917. The design, with its classically inspired figure of an angel emerging from the clouds holding a cornucopia, and its gold border and lettering, reflects the influence of the Vienna Secession. Alois Hans Schram was a Viennese sculptor and painter, perhaps best-known for his slightly saccharine images of women.
