In this poster, Chwast uses the sinuous lines of Jugendstil (the German and Austrian version of Art Nouveau) to describe a comical cat wearing a jacket and tie and a monocle to promote the first issue of the biannual journal Design & Style, edited by Steven Heller and designed by Chwast along with associate designer Roxanne Slimak. The journal represented a promotional collaboration between the Pushpin Group and Mohawk Paper Mills; this image also appeared on the cover of the publication itself.
