Hugentobler was a Swiss painter and graphic designer who worked for the Swiss racing industry in the 1920s, ‘30s, and ‘40s designing posters advertising equestrian races and events. The central image here, featuring a group of three riders so closely arranged that they almost appear as a single abstract form against the empty ground, appeared in posters by him promoting different horse races for at least a decade (also in 1925 and 1935, for example). The text below the image presented different information in a similar typeface.
